Travel during the holiday season can become overwhelming. Now Google is trying to simplify at least one part – accessing your boarding pass. They have launched a fresh feature in their Chrome browser which can automatically spot boarding pass details on any open tabs. This makes it smoother for users to find their boarding passes without hunting through a maze of websites or apps.
This exciting feature, found in Chrome Canary – a pre-release version of Google’s browser for tech professionals and early users, searches for boarding pass details using Google’s record of airline websites. It scans for barcodes, ticket codes, among other things. Users can then add these data points to their Google Wallet app in a similar style to how people add regular passes using images and screen caps.
This indicates Google’s pledge to making the process of getting boarding passes simpler. Not only applicable to flights but also buses, trains, and monorails. While this feature is still being tested it could potentially make trip preparation faster and less chaotic for users.
But that’s not all! Chrome Flags brings an array of trial features that could boost your online experience. Such as:
Change the Omnibox location on iPhones and Androids for Chrome.Rename Chrome’s color design to match your choice.Enable or turn off Chrome animations.Adjust the way the back button works.Allow desktop mode on mobile for specific websites.Apply a unique theme for new tabs.Create a quick-access bookmarks shortcut in Chrome’s menu.Control bookmark bar visibility.Better manage site permissions.Get pinged when a website requests your location.
